Welcome to Elkesley Primary and Nursery School!

Our school is at the heart of the community and places great emphasis on its relationships with pupils, parents and other members of the community.

Our aim at Elkesley is to provide all pupils with a stimulating and inclusive educational environment in which everyone feels safe, respected and supported to grow and develop to their full potential. We provide a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum which has the National Curriculum at its core. It focuses on giving all children the knowledge and cultural capital that they need to succeed. We aim to develop strong working memories where children are able to recall and apply what they have learnt: This is supported by placing vocabulary at the heart of our curriculum.

We listen to the views of the children, through pupil voice, to inform curriculum development. Along with this, our school council (which consist of four parts: Elkesley Innovators, Play Leaders, Green Team and Reading Legends) enables the children to understand democracy and provides them with an opportunity to change and improve their school.

Everything we do is built around our school values which endeavour to develop a love for lifelong learning in all children and enable them to be happy, welcoming, compassionate, resilient, talented achievers with an internal moral code based on British values and protected characteristics.

We carefully plan for and meet the needs of all our children (including those with SEND) through adaptive teaching, utilising a range of quality first teaching strategies; we always strive to ensure that specific areas of need are not a barrier to curriculum access and progress.

Elkesley Primary and Nursery School feeds to Tuxford Academy and enjoys a close partnership with them along with the primary schools within the Tuxford Family of Schools. This exciting partnership allows enhances opportunities for all pupils whilst preserving the unique identity of the school.
